Hello

Hello and welcome to my website where you’ll find more information about my books. My novels are set in the early part of the Twentieth century; a fascinating and tumultuous time of change and social upheaval, and the dawn of a new ‘modern’ era for women. Constrained by gender and status, inhibited by custom and lack of education, these are the women I endeavour to give voice to. Though they belong to another time, I hope their ingenuity, frustration, fortitude and humour resonates with readers today.

Happy reading!

The Last Summer

A sweepingly epic and gloriously intimate story of lost innocence, changing fortunes, and a powerful, enduring love.

A sumptuous absorbing tale of love in the time of war. Judith Kinghorn’s novel brilliantly illuminates the experiences of a generation of blighted youth.

Kinghorn carefully weaves the story of love and self-discovery into the solemn tapestry of war, loss, and mental instability… to tell this immersive and historically sound coming-of-age tale.

Judith Kinghorn excels at this time period... Those who love the blockbuster show Downton Abbey will find much to enjoy in The Snow Globe.
— The Historical Novel Society
Exquisite... a sensual and visual feast of a story, and a powerful follow-up to last year’s enthralling debut. The Memory of Lost Senses is a mesmerising book.
— Lancashire Evening Post
An enchanting début… big storytelling stuff of social and political change spanning the First World War and beyond. It’s a glorious read, highly recommended.
